The Wagga Womens Golf Network

What is it?

The Wagga Women's Golf Network, spearheaded by Tegan Purcell, the Head Professional at Wagga Country Club, was established with the aim of fostering connections among local women through the sport of golf. Designed to guide their journey from novice to seasoned players and members of the Wagga Wagga Country Club, the network offers an array of golfing and social experiences. These include quarterly social gatherings, regular golfing events, and classes tailored to beginners. Members, typically women aged 25 to 65 from the Riverina region, are predominantly new to golf and are encouraged to feel part of a community. Branded merchandise is available, providing members with an opportunity for recognition and a sense of belonging. Since its inception in 2021, the network, under Tegan's guidance, has introduced over 100 women to golf, actively promoting women's involvement in the sport. While currently operating independently, the network remains open to collaborations with other organizations to facilitate its mission of nurturing a welcoming environment for women golfers and breaking down barriers to entry within the region.
